Locally assembled German saloons and SUVs form the volume base of the market. Above them sit the performance divisions, and above those the British flagships that are imported fully built.

• ₹50 lakh - ₹1 Cr — Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, GLC and X3.
• ₹1 - 2.5 Cr — S-Class, 7 Series, Cayenne, Range Rover Sport, AMG and M models.
• ₹2.5 - 5 Cr — Bentley Bentayga, Porsche 911, Maybach GLS, Range Rover LWB.
• ₹5 Cr and above — Rolls-Royce Ghost and Cullinan, Bentley Flying Spur, Lamborghini Urus.

Chauffeur-driven or self-driven?

It is the question that decides the shortlist in India. Rear-seat buyers gravitate to the S-Class, 7 Series, Ghost and Flying Spur, where the specification that matters is rear comfort, isolation and audio. Self-driven buyers should be looking at the AMG, M, RS and Porsche lines instead.

Total cost of ownership

Insurance runs roughly 1-2% of value annually, and service costs scale sharply above ₹2 Cr. Locally assembled cars have cheaper parts and wider service reach; imported flagships need a dealer in your city before you buy, not after.
